Cape CrossFit
CrossFit was founded in 2002 and has over the last decade been the fastest growing training form in the world. It mixes Weightlifting, Gymnastics & Cardio mixed in a Constantly Varied High Intensity workout (WOD) where anyone from a complete beginner to the seasoned athlete can benefit from the amazing results we've seen for our members since starting Cape CrossFit in 2009.
What's UNIQUE about our Cape CrossFit approach?
We have arguably one of the most sophisticated approach to CrossFit training out there, where all our programs are designed not only with a Healthy approach in mind when it comes to the base version of each WOD, but we also take great pride in our unique approach to guide each athlete towards their specific needs via our SUPER HUMAN FUNCTIONALITY PROJECT.
The Super Human Functionality Project started in June 2023 and is in short a full on test system where we test our members' broad capacity across the various domains of fitness, but also imbalances between for instance Strength & Cardio, Gymnastic vs Loaded strength, and maybe most important of all: imbalances between left & right and pushing and pulling.
Such imbalances are often the root cause of injuries and by measuring these imbalances we can easily guide our members towards what each INDIVIDUAL member needs to work on to overcome such imbalances, and as such becoming "bullet proof".
The Super Human Functionality Project is also part of our VIP-Portal where the members can track their progress and see which areas of their Fitness they need to work on the most:
Explanations of the levels, for MOST of our members, aiming to cover the requirements for the Health to Performance level is plenty enough to be able to live a Super Human-Lifestyle!
The Portal then uses your data to give you your current level in any of the various testers, and a history of your progress when you retest!
Beyond the Super Human Functionality Project all our classes are Coach-led where you have a world class coach helping and guiding you to choose the right version of movements, load, and other important variable for each workout. We pride ourselves in our constant development of our Coaches Team to ensure that they are the best in the business when it comes to supporting you on your CrossFit journey. On top of that our programming comes with an "RX" and an "RX+" variation to also accommodate the more experienced CrossFit-athletes where some of our members have been with us for +10 years, and as such developed high levels of skill and strength which is from time to time challenged further via the RX+ workout.
COMPETITIVE CROSSFITTERS
Cape CrossFit has a proud history of being the most competitive CrossFit-brand in South Africa. With 3 CrossFit Games appearances as a Team and frequently the biggest representation at the African Regionals/Semi Finals level out of any brand on the continent we have proven that our training programs, and coaching, yields unmatched results over and over again.
We offer a complete "Competition"-style programming with two versions:
- Competition: Added weightlifting/gymnastic workouts to be done in combination with our regular class programming for a daily 90-120min session.
- Elite Athlete: Full on high level competition program with multiple sessions per day aiming to prepare those that will compete at the highest level of the sport in the future.
